About Me - Steve Burgess
Founder of Beverley Natural Therapy Centre, Steve first became
involved with hypnosis in the late 1980's when his father successfully gave up
smoking using hypnotherapy. He began practising privately in 1992 and
trained with the President of the Institute of Curative Hypnotherapists.
A success story ...
Initially working almost exclusively
with smokers, his success was such that he rapidly began to expand his
therapeutic portfolio and is now recognised as one of the country's most
successful and experienced clinical hypnotherapists, treating a wide range of
conditions. Steve receives many recommendations from satisfied ex-clients
and GP's referrals.
Modern methods
 Over the years Steve has
undertaken hundreds of hours of Continual Professional Development training in
specialised aspects of therapy, particularly at the Proudfoot School of Hypnosis
and Pschyotherapy and the London College of Clinical Hypnosis. He has also
trained with some of the leading personalities in the therapy world, including
Carol Sommer, Gary Craig (the creator of EFT) and Steve Andreas (one of the
creators of NLP).Steve believes strongly in remaining
at the forefront of modern therapeutic methods and is a certified N.L.P. (Neuro-Linguistic
Programming) practitioner. Following specialist training in treating
Irritable Bowel Syndrome, he joined the UK Register of IBS Therapists.Steve became a member of the British
Council of Hypnotist Examiners in 1992 and soon afterwards was granted
professional membership of the California based Association for Past Life
Research and Therapy Inc.
Steve is also registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare
Council (CNHC), the UK regulator for complementary medicine. Practitioners
registered with the CNHC meet national occupational standards and abide by a
rigorous code of conduct, performance and ethics.
Specialisations
Steve has written a book on the subject of past life regression, ‘Famous Past
Lives’, published by O Books.
Of particular interest to Steve are his
areas of specialisation - overcoming phobias and anxiety states, natural
childbirth, healing the wounds of childhood abuse, pain control, releasing
traumas, enhancing sports performance and Past Life Regression.
As a stress management consultant, he
works privately with individuals or groups providing a comprehensive programme
of stress control and has considerable experience in using hypnosis in surgery.
Media interest
Steve is regularly featured on BBC Radio
Humberside, in the Hull Daily Mail and other national publications, has often given talks
on the curative powers of hypnosis to local doctors and is a well known speaker
on subjects of hypnosis and Past Life Therapy. He has also appeared on GMTV,
Yorkshire TV and Sky 1 TV and his success in treating smokers has been featured
on national radio. He is regularly contacted by national TV programmes for
advice and information on the healing powers of Hypnotherapy and Past Life
Regression.
Training therapists
Steve is director of his own training
organisation, Lionheart Training, providing
hypnotherapy training to therapists, psychologists, GPs and health
practitioners.
Steve is also a regular guest presenter
for a host of national hypnotherapy training organisations and has run courses
and seminars for the Proudfoot School of Hypnosis, Northern College of Clinical
Hypnosis, Dominic Beirne School of Hypnosis, Stress Management Scotland,
Soothsayer Foundation, the National Council for Hypnotherapy, Survivors
Counselling Service, the Wakefield School of Hypnosis, the UKGHE, the Berne
Institute,
and the Hypnosisacademiet of Norway.
He has presented papers to the Annual
Conferences of the National Council for Hypnotherapy and the UK Guild of
Hypnotist Examiners (of which he is a former Vice-Chairman) and is a popular after-dinner
speaker on the subjects of Hypnosis and Past Life Regression.
